Descriptions of what these are:

1. Assessment – First we gather information about where your body is, where the imbalances are from left to right, top to bottom, front to back, and others.  We start to get a sense of your tightness patterns, and uneven patterns that are pulling on your spine which are making your back hurt.

2. Program – Out of the Assessment, you will get a 10 minute exercise program because that’s what most people will do; more than that doesn’t work. After weeks and months, you taper down to once or twice weekly for maintenance.  In 10 minutes a day, you start to change your body to an ultimate objective of weekly 10 minute maintenance to keep your body in a no-pain state.

3. Lifestyle Factors – One of the things we do that’s different is what I call lifestyle analysis, where we look at what you are doing in your life that’s tending to foster the unevenness in your body that’s causing your back pain. The program we give you will make your back much better, then you have these lifestyle habits that tend to keep knocking your spine out, so we need to get rid of those.
   Examples might be:
   • wearing a wallet in your back pocket
   • carrying things on one side of your body only, like your purse,
   • maybe your favorite chair puts you in a bad position, like some recliners.

   We unravel what you are doing that is hurting you and we figure out what to do instead.  Many times, this is lots of little tweaks you tend not to think of on your own.

4. Education – We teach you the principles behind what your back needs to stay pain-free and then how to put them into practice in your everyday life so you can go anywhere and do almost anything and stay out of pain. This is a really unique difference of ours:  we teach you what to do on your own.  It’s yours, so whenever something new comes up in your life, whether it’s travelling, a new office, or a new car, you will know what to do. You can take the principles you’ve learned and apply them to any situation and you will know how to remain pain-free in any situation, given the education we have given you.

5. Car – Many of my clients have said this is one of the best parts of our program!  We outfit your car.  For so many people with back pain, driving long (or even short) distances can be problematic.  Not so after we adjust your car seat exactly right for your body. We can’t get out of pain, if we get in a car every day that hurts us.  I explain to you exactly how your car seat needs to be adjusted for your particular story so that it’s not aggravating you anymore and you can drive without pain, including long distances. Everyone is different and there are many variables:  the car, your height, your back story for starters. so the fix for each individual may be different.  It’s close to impossible to figure all this out on your own.  That’s why buying a gizmo at best might only get you part of the way there.

6. Accountability – Consistency is the biggest factor that makes a difference in your back feeling better and getting better and people are way more apt to be consistent when they have to report to somebody, when they have to be accountable. Therefore, we provide an accountability program that works for you; we give you choices of how you want to do that to keep you more compliant because if we get you compliant at the beginning, then you start on your road to pain-free and you get more in the habit, then it’s easier to continue doing it on your own.
